Editing
Creating Titles
During our time of editing, myself and Alex decided we would use Adobe Photoshop to create a Picture for our title to include in our trailer.
Our intertitles consist of a basic font which is white with a dark red shadow behind. These intertitles were created on the editing software we are using. The intertitles we have included are 'Based on a true story', ' An EA Production' and 'Three stages'. The three stages relates back to the narrative of the side effect of the tablets. The intertitle acts like an enigma code for the audience and it doesn't give away too much. We decided to use white for the font due to it being easy to read on the black background. The red also connotes blood and danger which also fits into the thriller genre. From previous research, we discovered many titles in this genre are white or red which tells the audience instantly that it is a horror or scary film.
For our main title 'Unhinged' we decided to use a website: http://www.1001freefonts.com/
This website enabled us to find many different fonts which suited different genres and emotions. We looked through many categories such as 'Horror' 'Thriller' 'Scary' and 'On edge'. We had an idea of what we wanted. We decided we wanted a bold font with blood splats or drips around the title. This is very similar to The last House on the Left.
We found the suitable font we wanted, and used Photoshop to change the colour from black to white. We also added a red glow to emphasize the use of gore and crime in our film. This was the final product:

This will appear for the length of two seconds on the end of our trailer. This shot will then be followed by another creation Alex and I made. The next shot is the very last shot seen and it is the page with all the information on. We have the release date, followed by the age rating of the film, our production company logo and where the film will be seen. There is also small simple text used at the bottom. This includes the roles of each person in the group followed by the names of the actors. This information is not relevant which is why it is in small font however, many trailers tend to follow this structure.
The release date is very important, it gives the audience an idea to make plans to see the film but it is also vital information the audience will need to consume, as well as where it would be seen. We decided our film will be shown in Curzon Cinemas due to it being a low budget film. Also our film is for people who live locally such as the Cambridgeshire area. Cambridge is a place where a Curzon Cinema exists.
We created this slide on Adobe Photoshop. We used the same website to choose the two different fonts. The font 'Coming this' is simple with white and a dark red glow in the back. This fits in with the intertitles and it is bold for the audience to see. The 'Halloween' font is different due to Halloween itself being scary and thrilling. We wanted to emphasise this through the use of the font we found. We changed the colours due to it originally being black with no glow or outline. We decided our release date would be Halloween due to it fitting the occasion perfectly, also it is a time our demographic will be able to watch it because they will not be too busy in their life schedule.

Where did I get my trailer ideas from?
After researching and discovering thriller films tend to have a lot of fades to black, I definitely want to include this in my own trailer. I research different thrillers on YouTube and found that the film Prisoners (2013) have a great use of them. Fades to black helps make the trailer more mysterious and builds more tension for the viewer. I also like the idea that the fades to black were longer than the typical trailer with the dialogue over the top which makes it more dramatic.
I would also like to include this image at the beginning of my trailer.
I have noticed many trailers include this image, and I would like to include it in my trailer to make it look more professional and feel like a real film trailer.
The 1990 film trailer Wild at heart is a horror however, I researched older films to see if they were any different to newer films. In this trailer I really liked the idea of the use of flashbacks which bought to my attention of wanting to use flashbacks in my own trailer. Flashbacks can be seen as unusual but it gives more depth of a story line which audiences tend to love.
After creating the ideas for my film trailer, I decided to research if there were any other trailers which were similar to my own. I did this research on YouTube and found a teaser trailer with a similar narrative to the one we made as a group.
This trailer involves a character being mentally unstable. Pills are shown which are given by a psychologist which is similar to my trailer when Ryan gets medication after taking therapy sessions. I like the idea that this trailer has low key lighting nearly the whole way through which makes it more scary and thrilling. There is a prop used such as a knife which is what we have involved in our trailer which makes it very similar.
