During the day of filming the flashback scene, I decided to include a shot reverse shot conversation between the two parents. This was so we had enough footage, and it also helped to trailer flow and helped make the conversation seem more realistic.
Shot reverse shot scene in the therapy room:
Stuart Hall stated "Media language must combine effectively if the intended meaning is to reach the audience." The shot reverse shot shows a conversation between a very intelligent man and a young adult who is unable to control his emotions and mind. This communicates meaning by showing the therapist is very clever and could be capable of causing pain to someone. It leaves the audience feeling unsure about his character. (Dr.Phillips).
